EPISODE 41
what my kids miss by not being in public school
Every homeschool parent eventually gets the question: “Don’t your kids miss out by not being in school?”
And the honest answer is-yes. They miss out on plenty.
But not the things people think.
They miss the noise, the comparison, the pressure to perform, and the endless hours of busywork. And in return, they gain something far more valuable: peace, purpose, and presence.
In our home, missing out means:
- Clarity instead of noise. My kids get space to think, explore, and form their own opinions before the world tells them who to be.
- Integrity instead of peer pressure. They’re learning it’s okay to stand alone—and that their values matter more than fitting in.
- Margin instead of hurry. They get to live fully, not just fill time.
- Confidence instead of confusion. Learning at home means growing at their own pace, with consistency and connection.
- Contentment instead of comparison. No grades, no rankings—just growth and joy.
If you’ve ever wondered what your kids might miss by not being in public school, this episode will help you see that “missing out” might actually be the best thing that ever happened to them.
And the best part? You don’t have to do it alone.
